IT Storage Engineer

(Vienna, Austria)

Main Responsibilities:

IT Storage Project Support: Provide technical support for the end-to-end delivery and ongoing operation of IT storage projects.

Solution Development & Deployment: Gather customer requirements and participate in the design, development, and deployment of new storage solutions.

Handle hardware installation, equipment commissioning, and regular upgrades or expansions of storage systems.

Customer Technical Support: Deliver Level 1 and Level 2 technical support services to Carrier and Enterprise customers either independently or in cooperation with the GTAC team.

Customer Relationship Management: Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and foster strong relationships from a technical support perspective.

Requirements:

Storage Architecture: Solid understanding of DAS, SAN, NAS, and distributed storage systems like CEPH. Familiarity with storage protocols: FC, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS, etc.

Data Protection & Backup: Knowledge of RAID, deduplication, compression, cloning, snapshots, and other storage concepts. Understanding of backup and disaster recovery solutions such as Commvault or Veritas NetBackup is an advantage.

Storage Equipment Expertise: Hands-on experience with installation, configuration, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Huawei or similar storage products.

Experience Level: Minimum 3 years

Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields
