Job Title: Tax Manager
Job Location: Prague
Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file monthly VAT returns, Intrastat returns, and EC Sales Lists on time to ensure tax compliance.
- Monitor updates in tax legislation and regulations in the Czech Republic and internationally to minimize risk and maintain full compliance.
- Identify and manage tax risks across various business operations, including reviewing terms in contracts and supporting the bidding team with tax analysis and advice.
- Act as a key liaison with external consultants, auditors, and regional tax managers, particularly concerning transfer pricing documentation and statutory reporting.
- Lead the preparation and filing of Corporate Income Tax (CIT) returns, Transfer Pricing (TP) documentation, and statutory statements for annual audits.
- Support monthly and quarterly closings (e.g., accruals, bookings), ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Serve as the main contact point for local tax authorities and auditors during tax audits and investigations, ensuring smooth communication and compliance resolution.
Requirements:
- Education: University degree in Economics, Accounting, or Taxation. A qualification such as ACCA or Tax Adviser certification is a strong plus.
- Experience: Proven professional experience in tax-related roles, ideally in audit and compliance within an international environment (e.g., Big 4, telecommunications).
Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of Czech tax legislation and Czech GAAP
- Deep understanding of IFRS
Skills:
- Excellent command of English; native-level Czech
- Ability to prioritize work, problem-solve, and meet deadlines under pressure
- Proactive, independent, and responsible with strong interpersonal skills
- Commercial thinking and the ability to translate tax/accounting issues to non-technical audiences
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
